At bottom, robotics is about us. It is the discipline of emulating our lives, of wondering how we work.

Speak to Me

Before we can start designing robots, we first have to understand how they work underneath the plastic and metal. We must understand the design behind how they work, ie programming. We’ll start with basic concepts, try a few games, and then get to actual coding.

At this same time, we’ll also be looking at the History of Robotics.

Each six weeks, you’ll have a mini-research project. The first topic is History of Robotics. Each six weeks, each person will choose a specific subject within that category to produce their project on.

Part 3

Play Light-bot! Take notes in your composition book.
Light-bot is programmed through a GUI (pronounced ‘gooey’), Graphic User Interface. That means you aren’t writing lines of code to operate light-bot, instead you are programming him through arranging images and icons.

Other GUI based programming games: Original Light-bot, Light-bot 2.0, Robozzle, Save my Robotos, & Robo Rally Demo
