Photomontages

As you continue exploring color theory, you’ll continue to create different photomontages by building composite images from other images.

Here are some to inspire you- both well-known and lesser-known examples, both modern and some a bit more historical.

2nd Assignment

For your second assignment, you are to create a photomontage using a pairing of complimentary colors.

The effect an image has using complimentary color schemes is different than that using analogous color schemes. Using complimentary colors tends to make things pop more. Partially due to color, but also normally due to differences in value. We tend to also like complimentary pairings, and they’ve even done some scientific research on why.
